Red Hat, Inc., the world’s leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that B2 Impact, one of Poland’s leading debt collection companies, has selected Red Hat to modernize its IT infrastructure and applications using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization and Red Hat OpenShift, the industry’s leading hybrid cloud application platform powered by Kubernetes. By working with Red Hat, B2 Impact has been able to increase operational efficiency and improve application quality as well as the performance of some production environments. Among other results, B2 Impact Poland accelerated ETL (extract, transform, load) processes fourfold, shortened the time needed to prepare a new, fully operational environment for business requirements to just one hour, and enabled nearly uninterrupted service transitions between data centers.
We’ve chosen Red Hat to help prepare our technology ecosystem for a future based entirely on hybrid cloud and cloud-ready solutions.
B2 Impact Poland services the debt of nearly 2,5 million customers handling 4.1 million cases. For the financial sector, which operates in an environment of high change dynamics and increasing regulatory requirements, technological debt is a particular challenge. B2 Impact Poland’s IT infrastructure had to meet the new goals and requirements of the business. The company needed a modern IT ecosystem to support its digital transformation, providing flexibility to rapidly implement innovations. An important part of the modernization was also to strengthen cyber security and facilitate compliance with EU regulations covering the financial sector, such as the Network and Information Security Directive 2 (NIS2) and Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).
As part of the transformation project, B2 Impact Poland upgraded two of its data centers and migrated operating environments using Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, an included feature of Red Hat OpenShift. The company modernized its technology stack and rearchitected selected virtual machines (VMs) to containers, enhancing scalability and application flexibility. By adopting a microservices architecture, B2 Impact accelerated software development and testing, reduced time-to-market and enabled faster delivery of products and services. OpenShift supports agile service delivery and allows for bi-weekly delivery of updates and new functionalities in line with business requirements.
Red Hat and Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization enabled the debt solution provider to:
- Unify VMs and containerized applications into a single platform;
- Simplify the monitoring and management of infrastructure and data flow;
- Implement a DevOps approach to increase flexibility and operational efficiency;
- Streamline IT infrastructure by reducing 28 physical and 250 virtual servers, cutting tech debt, carbon footprint, and infrastructure costs;
- Enhance cybersecurity with automated switches to back up data centers, a zero trust security model and a new disaster recovery policy.
B2 Impact's partner in the upgrade project was Net-o-logy, supporting the financial company throughout the project from design to implementation. B2 Impact plans to continue their modernization journey with the implementation of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, leveraging its security, integrations, and network automation capabilities to accelerate infrastructure management.
