Red Hat Academy milestone: Empowering 50,000 students in 2023

Red Hat Academy collaborates with educational institutions worldwide, offering no-cost learning opportunities focused on Red Hat technologies. Our goal is to empower students with the tools to succeed in the real world using Red Hat products and services. Since its launch, the program has seen significant growth, reaching over 100 countries and partnering with more than 2,500 academic institutions.

As we wrap up another year of global partnerships with schools and universities, the Red Hat Academy team is celebrating some extraordinary achievements. We're thrilled to announce that in 2023, we've successfully equipped and inspired over 50,000 students with the skills and knowledge in open source technology.

Keeping pace

Red Hat Academy has consistently evolved to meet the ever-changing needs of students, instructors and the IT industry. Included in these efforts is the launch of a new user platform designed to provide an enhanced online learning experience. This platform delivers instructor-led and self-paced courses, hands-on labs and remotely-proctored certification exams, all of which are designed to prepare students for a career in open source technology.

Empowering minds

Red Hat Academy fosters professional growth by providing students with the opportunity to gain experience with an array of Red Hat products, which are widely used in the IT industry. Courses cover topics related to Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and more. By completing courses through Red Hat Academy, students gain practical skills, hands-on experience and exposure to the open source philosophy.

Upon the completion of courses, students are also offered the opportunity to take Red Hat Certification exams. Red Hat Certifications are globally recognized and hold immense value in the IT industry as they validate the expertise students have acquired throughout their journey.

Community engagement

The strength of Red Hat Academy lies in its ability to bring together like-minded students that are passionate about open source technology. Our students are contributors to — and the future of — the open source community. Many choose to participate in the Red Hat Academy Student Ambassador Program, allowing them to connect with mentors and learn from professionals in the IT industry. Others jump into the Red Hat Learning Community — an online community for anyone interested in keeping up with the latest advancements in open source projects. Students can connect, pose questions, exchange resources, engage in tech discussions, earn digital badges and freely share valuable tips and insights.

Looking ahead

Our journey doesn't end here. Red Hat Academy remains committed to cultivating the next generation of tech leaders, while helping bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. To further narrow this divide, in early 2022 we introduced the Red Hat Academy Talent Network.

This initiative unites Red Hat customers and partners on a quest to identify entry-level talent ready for employment in the enterprise environment. Our role is to facilitate this search by assembling a talent pool equipped with the essential Red Hat skills and certifications needed to help drive global enterprise transformation.
