We are pleased to announce the Q3 release of Red Hat Integration, which brings us further in our alignment around Red Hat OpenShift as the platform of choice for developing and deploying cloud-native applications across hybrid cloud environments, as well as helping customers get their integrations up and running easier and faster.

As modern IT continues its rapid evolution, it becomes important that the cloud-native solutions supporting this transformation keep pace, enabling IT organizations to truly benefit from this constant innovation. To help customers take full advantage of this, we've updated, tested and certified every single component in Red Hat Integration with the latest version of OpenShift: Red Hat OpenShift 4.

One of these exciting innovations is Kubernetes Operators. Operators help improve the customer experience by automating operational tasks such as packaging, deploying and managing applications on OpenShift. As of today, comprehensive Operator support is available across Red Hat Integration, including Red Hat 3scale API Management, Red Hat Fuse, Red Hat AMQ streams, Red Hat AMQ interconnect and Red Hat AMQ online.

In addition, we are continuing to build out new data integration capabilities for modern application development use cases. This release includes a developer preview of change data capture support based on the upstream Debezium project. With change data capture, database changes can be externalized as event streams and integrated with Apache Kafka as topics that applications can both subscribe and publish to. One of the challenges that has surfaced in the wake of moving to finer-grained application components (e.g., microservices) is that the complexity of dependencies between the old and new architectures has increased. Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are well-suited for addressing the interoperability gap; however, tools like Kafka and Debezium should also be used in order to apply changes coherently across both models.
